Jedi-Jedi 💊

It seems as if jedijedi (chop yansh chop yansh) was propagated the past few weeks because I can count the number of people that had it. Even as I speak, it's still not fully flushed out of my system. Although there is no accurate english medical word for it, pile or hemorrhoids is widely known as jedijedi in Yoruba and it's caused by sweet or sugary things.  It's symptoms include itchy anus, abdominal and lower back pain, erectile dysfunction, diarrhoea, general body weakness and many more. You see ehn, whenever I see these salesman in car playing their herbal mixtures jingles for protruding anus, I was always laughing and making jest of those that could have found themselves in that particular health condition or probably thinking it only happens to children. I was shocked when I noticed my anus has protruded too. (this thing na turn by turn sha) Lol. I knew my sugar intake would immensely increase when I could no longer prepare food at home due to a tight schedule. I leav

Power competition💪

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Let me remind you: Struggle for power is real! Although, some do as if they never wanted to be in power but a higher percentage really want to because of what comes with it. Look around and see what is happening even in our dear country, the chaos is always ignited by power.  Power is the ability to control or influence others. Frankly speaking, we have different views as human beings and would always want our opinions to supercede others. Any person in power would make you do what he or she has said whether you like it or not. Thirsting to be in power is nice but how about the motive? It's good everyone wants to have a say, power is influence. Someone that doesn't have any power over me cannot tell me to do something. Imagine an average Nigerian and the President of Nigeria at the same event. Who would get the most attention? Who would get the ultimate respect? We know the answer obviously. To be in power takes effort, to

Learn to empathize👥

Just as a singer sang ''if you know wetin I know, you for no reason me...'' Most times, people do not learn to empathize which makes them easy to judge you. They are always ready to pounce on you when you're found guilty of a wrongdoing. Empathy means to identify with or understanding of the thoughts, feelings, or emotional state of another person. It is the capacity to understand another person's point of view. It's fine to be so positively minded about our expectations but this could blind us to believing the table turns. Note: this 'table turning' of a thing doesn't necessarily means for bad, No No. Lack of empathy causes us to judge other people inappropriately. We are too quick to say 'God catch him' even when we don't understand what has led to that. Until we change our paradigm or the view in which we use to see others, we would continue to hurt others by our excess subjective comments. Right now, your paradigm of anyone that

Appearance first🕵

Well, I believe we all know the brain stores what it sees faster than what it hears. I've said it once here and I'll say it again that appearance matters (maybe to me though). I sincerely do not know how young people especially ladies feel comfortable shabbily dressed and tell you it's like that since their partner is not around or they have no one looking at them. Eeeew! I used to know a very beautiful lady whom because of her boyfriend's insecurity, doesn't dress near good. I mean when I tried to talk to her, she said her boyfriend had warned her not to 'dress to kill' for other guys since he's not around. How on earth would someone be so mean? Like if you see the pictures of this boyfriend we're talking about, he's always dripping in designers. When you are told to spice up your appearance, it doesn't mean breaking a bank or being indecent. That's the mistake most ladies make and it's not nice. Just like me now, my pocket money can

The pause we detest⏸

As human beings, we are so much in a hurry for results. We want speed, for things to happen in a twinkle of an eye. We want to jump steps and just make things so snappy.  But life at times throws lemon at us, we don't often get what we want. That is the traffic congestion or hold up on our ways. This period of waiting is the period that makes us if you'll agree with me. Even with pressure pot, rice would have still stayed a couple of minute on the cooker before it gets done. Tell me, won't you be taken aback when you put rice on the fire and it gets done almost immediately? Maybe when technology reaches that stage though. Almost everyone has had to wait at a period in their life. Just this afternoon, I waited for several minutes at the borehole to get water. Everybody in my school at this time knows water is a great challenge. I shared the story of my admission into tertiary institution sometimes on this blog, I waited. Mheeen, it was an ugly experience. How something was s

New Year Resolution 📝

This resolution of a thing sef, it's always somehow. Many of us pledge to do some things or even vow to stop some things at the beginning of a year but eventually we get incapacitated. How numerous resolution get discarded by February baffles me alot sha. Another worst thing about this is that some people even forget they made a resolution as regards a particular thing. They remember at the close of the year and promise themselves they would turn it over to the incoming year and the cycle goes on and on. Why do we find it hard to stick by our resolutions? According to Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary, resolution may mean : A strong will, determination. A statement of intent, a vow. Some people, after so many failed resolutions have given up, they want to go with the flow of ''anything goes.'' The idea isn't that bad, it is however good when we map out how we want the new year to be. Whether to inculcate new things or thrash stuff that ain't ideal. Do

Twenty-Twenty🆗

Our over-hyped 2020 is almost gone, in about 72 hours, we would all be updating #StraightOutta2020. With all the odds that came with 2020,  With the way things were affected, With complaints here and there, Did the year really feel your presence? I know we all had excuses. '' I wish I could have done this and that but covid19 spoilt my plans...'' and so on. For you to still be alive reading this, it can only be God and I felicitate with you.  If you were to do a review of your life this year, did you merely exist or live? Well, these two English words are used wrongly by some people, they believe they are living when in the real sense they are existing. Okay, wait, apart from people recognising you by name, complexion, voice or appearance, do they know you by good works? Existence is a state of being, to be alive, to fill a vacuum, to occupy a space. Living is different, it's being alive to have an impact.  This year, we know you're online, you view status, you
