Twenty-Twenty🆗

Our over-hyped 2020 is almost gone, in about 72 hours, we would all be updating #StraightOutta2020. With all the odds that came with 2020,  With the way things were affected, With complaints here and there, Did the year really feel your presence? I know we all had excuses. '' I wish I could have done this and that but covid19 spoilt my plans...'' and so on. For you to still be alive reading this, it can only be God and I felicitate with you.  If you were to do a review of your life this year, did you merely exist or live? Well, these two English words are used wrongly by some people, they believe they are living when in the real sense they are existing. Okay, wait, apart from people recognising you by name, complexion, voice or appearance, do they know you by good works? Existence is a state of being, to be alive, to fill a vacuum, to occupy a space. Living is different, it's being alive to have an impact.  This year, we know you're online, you view status, you

Insecurity!🙃

Insecurity!!! This alone ruins a marriage of so many years, especially when the ego of the man is being tampered with. Insecurity comes in different forms. In a relationship, a man may feel insecure when his wife earns more than he. A woman may feel insecure when her husband is quite attractive or maybe used to be a casanova before they got married. And generally, insecurity between a husband and a wife could be as a result of growing up and hurtful past relationship experiences. In friendship, a friend may feel insecure when the other seems to be doing well. An insecure person could be very difficult to deal with. The moment they see you're doing better than they are, that is where problem and enmity sets in. Let me go on, insecure people talk you out of reaching heights because it threatens them. They start thinking by the time you're on a higher level than they, you may decide to leave. When I read ''Reflecns of A Man'' by Amari Soul, I had a clearer understa

Growth is not hypocrisy📶

I wonder why people are so used to nailing you to what you were once known for even after knowing you've moved. There's this elderly friend of mine. He was a panelist in a finance workshop. He asked if I could make it to the event that day and I replied in the affirmative. The discussion was really an eye-opener for me and I commended him immediately after the session. Just as I was still standing by him, a man whom he described as one of his friends in the college came over and said ''if it had been someone else talking, I might have agreed, when did you become so serious about money of a thing, you used to be so extravagant at spending.'' My friend didn't take offence at the rude remark, he just smiled at him and said ''thank God you said I used to, not anymore'' The man went away shaking his head in utter disbelief. Well, I entered into his thoughts and I realized he was thinking that someone that had such prodigal nature shouldn't ad

Sapiosexuality💯

The first time I came across the word ''sapiosexual'' was when I was reading a book about two years ago. You know what it means right? Sapiosexual means to be sexually attracted to intellectual or mental qualities, rather than to the physical body. Most times, we all crosscheck physical attributes before we consider someone's proposal.  We set qualifications within our hearts, most ladies say ''I want a tall handsome man with beards, six packs, dark or chocolate skin'' Some men say '' I want a lady with a  hourglass shape, beautiful, fair skin complexion, nice dentition and a moderate height.'' It's all good. But what happens when you meet someone with the aforementioned attributes, you ignited a conversation and you started hearing ''My names is Cynthia, they calling me CT babies, I enjoying eating spagerri and shicken'' Oh mine!😲 Did you hear that? Well, nobody would love to date a monkey. No matter how little,

My tour to Adó Àwáyè🚌🛫

About this time last year, I was on a tour to Adó Àwáyè, not really as an intentional tourist but as a reporter. Ever heard of Adó Àwáyè? Well, it would so please my heart to tell you one or two things about this particular place. Adó Àwáyè is a town closest to Iseyin in the Òkè Ògùn area of Oyo state. It homes one of the two suspended lakes in the whole world. The town was founded by Obakoyi of the Oyo empire in 1500 who settled at Adó Àwáyè on his way to Òtà. Obakoye was to be the Alaafin of Òyó but Onigbogi his brother ascended the throne. He angrily left Oyo with one of his father’s crowns. However, he went through plain grounds until he got foot of the Ado Hill, where he saw a smoke. He climbed the mountain and there, he met some escapees from the Dahomey war. Having agreed and discussed with them, they decided to make him King of Ado.  Adúró s'íbí (we stay here) became Adó, Àwáyè (we are safe) to form Ado Awaye. On the Adó Àwáyè hill is found three suspended lakes but the mos

The lies we know🌓

They knew we know the truth but they still tell us the truth we know is a lie. Who are they? Nigerian government apparently. CNN released video of what transpired at the Lekki tollgate on October 20, 2020 and it was denied by our able Minister of Information, Mr Lai. I'll say well done sir! It was denied ahbi, the denial of the masaccre should have followed a video of what they called the truth about the incidence. I was expecting a shocking revelation of protesters at the toll gate who were just singing national anthem and waving the flag all through but I couldn't find it. I was expecting a total denial of DJ switch's Instagram live video that it was probably at a movie location or thereabout. I was expecting the federal government to say those visited at the hospital by the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwoolu were victim of landslide and not the Lekki tollgate shootings. Yea, maybe I should add this too. I was also expecting them to say the officers of the Nigerian A

FG-ASUU tournament⚽📚

''Maybe it would have  been better if students go and learn skills.'' ''The schools should rather be closed for two to five years in order to resuscitate the education sector'' Well, these and many more are the statements that have been pissing me off since the beginning of the dialogue between ASUU and the Federal Government. Gradually, 2020 is almost over and students in Nigeria universities are yet to know their resumption fate. I could remember vividly that the strike was ongoing before the lockdown was declared. It's a pity a course of study with 4 years duration turns out to be 5 or even 6 years. How did we get here? A student would actually be happy when he or she is offered a provisional admission and start calculating how many years to go but like the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would say ''I was shocked'' the calculated duration gets longer and longer.  Nigeria educational system is actually wrecking every
