FG-ASUU tournament⚽📚

''Maybe it would have  been better if students go and learn skills.''

''The schools should rather be closed for two to five years in order to resuscitate the education sector''

Well, these and many more are the statements that have been pissing me off since the beginning of the dialogue between ASUU and the Federal Government.

Gradually, 2020 is almost over and students in Nigeria universities are yet to know their resumption fate.

I could remember vividly that the strike was ongoing before the lockdown was declared.

It's a pity a course of study with 4 years duration turns out to be 5 or even 6 years. How did we get here?

A student would actually be happy when he or she is offered a provisional admission and start calculating how many years to go but like the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria would say ''I was shocked'' the calculated duration gets longer and longer.

Nigeria educational system is actually wrecking every year and hands are being fold. Like how can the proposed budget for the National Assembly be more than the one for education? Could that be a way of telling us that education is not prioritized? Wow!

An applied knowledge is power they say. We strive to acquire this knowledge by all means but it looks so weightless at the end of the day. Maybe we need to conclude now that it's of no importance or what?

The Federal government and ASUU now play students' lives as balls. An issue that could have been sorted with a day dialogue is taking months for both parties to come to an unanimous conclusion.

Their children obviously don't school here because if they do, it would have changed the outlook of the sector a long time ago. Everything is just so poor, the facilities in these institutions, welfare of students, low number of lecturers and even a poor pay for lecturers. Turn offs enough to make someone reluctant to lecture.

Students in private and foreign universities are posting picture of ''Class of 2020'' already while our finalists here have not even written their first semester exam. This is serious.

All these didn't start today. What exactly have we benefitted form the government just as MC Macaroni asked in one of his comedy videos. Our parents enjoyed free primary education and before they are out of school, job was waiting for them and other opportunities to travel abroad.

Now, we pay for the education we receive and a large portion of employable youths are unemployed years after graduation. What is the offence to this government?

Just like they advised in one of their meetings, we would resolve to learning skills but would they patronize us? No, they would prefer to import goods and bring in foreigners-people they perceive to be better in a specific field.

We would keep trying, pushing and praying to God to ease our affairs.

Nigerian students are brilliant o, extremely brilliant I must say but they don't want us. It looks like an effort in futility when one has struggled to make a first class and couldn't get a job thereafter. Imagine! Mediocrity is celebrated as reality TV stars are even rated above scholars. (I won't go there now)

A quick note: if you are opportune to school abroad or knows someone that's so bright and can be sponsored, please do that as soon as possible. Nigeria doesn't deserve us. Receptive learners everywhere but the leaders make it much of a big deal.

I know your worth fellow students and we'll all laugh at last.

Virtual hugs🤗🤗🤗

  1. It's evident that there's no hope for Nigerian students, even those who attends private University.

They literally don't have us in their plans... If this continues, left to me, I doubt if my children would go to school.

Pseudointellectual 🤓

It's good to have you here again😍 You are loved. Long time no vocabulary. I know scholars here may not really see those words as new nonetheless I'll still share cos what? I get coconut head. Lol So, many of us have actually been here at some points in our life especially when we're trying to really get along in a conversation and present ourselves as supposedly "intelligent."  Hmmm, I could still remember one of the embarrassing moments I had some years back while they were talking about network marketing like GNLD, oriflame, longrich, etc I was like practically linking it to telecommunication networks and everyone was like "no now, seems you're not getting what we are saying..." chai....my feet kinda dragged o Although, you may have tried to do that and not be caught that you're really ignorant of the subject matter. Such person that pretends to be so much knowledgeable when in actual sense he or she isn't is called a PSEUDOINTELLECTUAL.  ...

New Year Resolution 📝

This resolution of a thing sef, it's always somehow. Many of us pledge to do some things or even vow to stop some things at the beginning of a year but eventually we get incapacitated. How numerous resolution get discarded by February baffles me alot sha. Another worst thing about this is that some people even forget they made a resolution as regards a particular thing. They remember at the close of the year and promise themselves they would turn it over to the incoming year and the cycle goes on and on. Why do we find it hard to stick by our resolutions? According to Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary, resolution may mean : A strong will, determination. A statement of intent, a vow. Some people, after so many failed resolutions have given up, they want to go with the flow of ''anything goes.'' The idea isn't that bad, it is however good when we map out how we want the new year to be. Whether to inculcate new things or thrash stuff that ain't ideal. Do...
