Smart way to handle criticism馃槑

Many a time we hear words like "that was so bad of you" "you did rubbish" "I was expecting you to have done something better, that was whack" "you look so ugly" blablabla and we might just feel bad about ourselves or what we've done and we get discouraged to even try further.

Smiles, I really do not want to sound like a motivational speaker, obviously, I'm not. Just felt an urge to share this with you.

The greatest criticism comes from intimate or I rather put close people because they are the ones that could talk straight to our faces. At times, they take us for granted and just hurl unpleasant words as they like not minding the effects.

Criticisms are good as they help us to guage our stand, I mean positive ones.

They are alot of people that are already bitter thereby looking for whom to transfer their aggressions to. So, when you ask them how your last presentation was or how your make up looks, they would be quick to point out the flaws, saying this and that without noticing anything good about what you've done or how you look. These people can be so dangerous.

When these kind of people find their ways into your 'psychological self', you'll get your self esteem affected.

So how do you handle such a negative criticism? It's simple. Before the person rants further and further, just thank the person politely for whatever observation and walk away. Don't allow the word to pierce you through, please馃檹

When you get to your closet, you can ponder on those words and ask few more people about that particular thing to know if their observation is the same, if so, you need to work on yourself.

Let me share my story with you. I know I'm not the best cook on planet earth  but I'm not a bad one either. Because I rarely cook doesn't mean I can't馃構. I have a friend who feels she's an awesome cook and most times, she tells everyone I'm bad at cooking during the course of similar conversations, it's openly o. People laughed at me one particular day, and I smiled too so they won't notice I was pained. So there was a day that these set of people who had the impression that I can't cook decided to come visit, I didn't know where that 'alase' (party chef) spirit came from. I prepared the food in their presence and the jollof rice was so delicious that the people were convinced she must have been saying the opposite of what she meant. And I must say, I felt like a super star with the accolades I received.

Imagine, what would have happened if I had shouted at her that day warning her to keep shut or if I had cried?

So, whether you were or will be(its unavoidable as long as you're living and making progress) criticized negatively in a public or privately, do well to stay composed and polite, keep your head straight and give a charming smile. But make sure you are not the bad they said you are. I dont know if you understand.
Remember, you owe no one any explanation.

Just be better today than you were yesterday.

I would like to talk on complacency one of these days. Watch this space.

Pseudointellectual 馃

It's good to have you here again馃槏 You are loved. Long time no vocabulary. I know scholars here may not really see those words as new nonetheless I'll still share cos what? I get coconut head. Lol So, many of us have actually been here at some points in our life especially when we're trying to really get along in a conversation and present ourselves as supposedly "intelligent."  Hmmm, I could still remember one of the embarrassing moments I had some years back while they were talking about network marketing like GNLD, oriflame, longrich, etc I was like practically linking it to telecommunication networks and everyone was like "no now, seems you're not getting what we are saying..." chai....my feet kinda dragged o Although, you may have tried to do that and not be caught that you're really ignorant of the subject matter. Such person that pretends to be so much knowledgeable when in actual sense he or she isn't is called a PSEUDOINTELLECTUAL.  ...

Parenting 馃應

It's been some few weeks that I dropped by and alot has happened outside here. From abusive marriage to Chrisland girl trend and now bestiality (blog for another day) The latter seems to be the most disheartening of all the stories. Like WTF! Maybe we would just have to pick one after the other but lemme first ask how do you do? And yeah, April is almost gone too in 2022, how have you been holding up ? especially if you're reading this from Nigeria (Top to botum) Lol  Nawa o! So many things have spoilt in this generation already and we don't even know how perverse the generation coming after this would look like. Parenting seems to beh the cheapest business to run now as there's little to no supervision required. I think I updated on my WhatsApp status sometimes ago how a mother approached me that her daughter got 126 in UTME and she would like me to use everything in my capacity to see that she's admitted into my school even after telling her the cut-off is 150. I ...

King of Thieves Agesink贸l茅 馃幀

Let me start with the slogan "Agesink贸l茅 kan omo re pupo - kuo beun na" So sorry if you don't understand yoruba or haven't seen the movie yet. I'll help by saying Agesink贸l茅 is literally translated as "He who rides horse to rob houses." Lol King of Thieves is an epic story of betrayal that revolves round a prince who was deprived of the throne by the king makers. He was set up as a thief by those he has solely trusted and faced the brutal punishment of death. In a quest for vengeance, he reincarnated and troubled the town violently by carting away goods even with no regards for human life. The movie is indeed a complete package from the casts to the props, the costume, the language, the directing, the clean production and post production.  You know, I just can't be wait to be told after seeing the paparazzi from the premiere and the thriller, mehn.... I became so much inquisitive as to what exactly the content was and can say I truly got the value fo...
