Parenting 👪

It's been some few weeks that I dropped by and alot has happened outside here. From abusive marriage to Chrisland girl trend and now bestiality (blog for another day) The latter seems to be the most disheartening of all the stories. Like WTF!

Maybe we would just have to pick one after the other but lemme first ask how do you do? And yeah, April is almost gone too in 2022, how have you been holding up ? especially if you're reading this from Nigeria (Top to botum) Lol

Nawa o! So many things have spoilt in this generation already and we don't even know how perverse the generation coming after this would look like. Parenting seems to beh the cheapest business to run now as there's little to no supervision required.

I think I updated on my WhatsApp status sometimes ago how a mother approached me that her daughter got 126 in UTME and she would like me to use everything in my capacity to see that she's admitted into my school even after telling her the cut-off is 150.

I began to wonder how tough it was during my admission seeking days that one automatically looses hope when he or she gets below 180. No parent will start pushing you desperately like that cos you absolutely just wasted their money for that year except you would be asked to go for a Pre-degree or preliminary program.

Parents, all in the name of being good, now tolerate all forms of things from their toddlers to the teenagers. It's not a bad idea to be a permissive parent, but it's bad if we become too reckless about it. We know you want to afford your children the luxury lifestyle that you were not brought up with and that's fine, but biko let there be decency.

We are free to say that bad parenting didn't just start. Yea, it has been since the analog age and those times when they were using Nokia3310 but it just became more pronounced in this digital age where parents go on social media themselves to post the naked birthday shoot they had for their 3year old daughter or how the child was busy drinking alcohol and dancing seductively.

Have some parents failed at it? In the affirmative especially these young couples forming 'woke' and 'jasi'. Maybe because they were also not prepared for this journey after all cos people who are intentional about marriage and parenthood will never just sit back and see their children's future crumbling.

Just before you start saying "Lollycious, but you are not married na, you don't know what parenting is about blablabla" Mehn, I'm not but I've understood what it is like growing up under my parent's guidance, from reading the scripture that was written by the inspiration of the holy ghost, I've garnered knowledge from books, movies and people's experiences that they were willing to share with me.

Well, I've not come here to rant about the choice of some parents especially mothers to have naked shoots with their babies, wear heavy make-up and long hairstyles for toddlers, allow them drink alcohol, allow them party and twerk at young age and more. Lol, maybe I'm ranting sha but it's not that loud sha.

Take for instance the pride we have saying "My mother's prayers keep me going" Can our children say that about us? We are all involved so I don't want to point fingers. Do we even pray, do right or there's negligence on our path and we just want to flex and 'eat the lives of our head'?

May I just beg us whether as parents or parents-to-be that inculcating some little bits of morals and virtues in our children is only possible when we are value-driven individuals ourselves. Just like they say "You possibly can't give what you don't have"

I'm making this plea because your children may end up growing in the same environment with mine and if we all don't curb this nonchalant attitude towards parenting, the society will become so toxic for our children to thrive.

Let's all strive to become better and virtuous people so we can raise morally upright kids that would make us proud. Before we blame the schools, peers or religious institution, I'm sure we know the family is the first agent of socialisation. I hope y'all find this worth reading?

Jedi-Jedi 💊

It seems as if jedijedi (chop yansh chop yansh) was propagated the past few weeks because I can count the number of people that had it. Even as I speak, it's still not fully flushed out of my system. Although there is no accurate english medical word for it, pile or hemorrhoids is widely known as jedijedi in Yoruba and it's caused by sweet or sugary things.  It's symptoms include itchy anus, abdominal and lower back pain, erectile dysfunction, diarrhoea, general body weakness and many more. You see ehn, whenever I see these salesman in car playing their herbal mixtures jingles for protruding anus, I was always laughing and making jest of those that could have found themselves in that particular health condition or probably thinking it only happens to children. I was shocked when I noticed my anus has protruded too. (this thing na turn by turn sha) Lol. I knew my sugar intake would immensely increase when I could no longer prepare food at home due to a tight schedule. I leav

Something big🔘

We all get happy when we hear our share is bigger than someone else's. Naturally as humans, we would always want more just like Oliver Twist. Shall I say we even hate to share things equally among others? We are most likely to negotiate with others to make them see reasons why we should have more of the normal share. Just like two people sharing the sum of #10,000, one may have to remind the other that he's older, whether he knows the person that gave them the money or maybe he worked more. So, I was eating pounded yam and egusi this afternoon (Well, I'm not willing to entertain any question about how I got the meal package sha). The meat was big and looks too gluttonous to be consumed but deep down I kind of like the fact that the meat was big. Most times, we want big things. Getting big pay, big contracts, big meats, big apartments even some guys like ''big and bang-bodied ladies.'' But wait, with all this big big stuff, what if someone gifted you a dress

Overcoming inferiority 🤳

There are two sets of people reading this: those that have experienced my current state and those looking forward to it. Maybe I haven't said this but right now I'm blogging as a graduate. Yaaaay I'm not here to wail and narrate ordeals but you would agree with me the journey isn't bread and butter if you study in any of Nigeria's federal or state owned institutions. I want to believe that whoever has taken a step to pursue whether NCE, ND, HND, B.Sc/B.A/B.Ed/B.Agric/B.Tech, L.Lb or any other program in a tertiary institutions should be lauded indiscriminately. For someone like me, I would say it's the survival of the fittest. Almost weighed down and battling with inferiority complex among my friends in the university but at last I had to shake it off as in 'odeychi' Prior to this time, I mean about 5years ago during my ND, I always try to evade conversation that probe into where I school. I could remember how I would always lie to an admirer or any ot
